RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan's Message on 16th Anniversary of Republic of Armenia Independence Declaration
Dear Compatriots,
I congratulate all of us on the 16th anniversary of declaration of Republic of Armenia's independence.
The centuries-long-cherished dream of the Armenian people - the emergence of an independence Armenia -has been materialized for 16 years now. On September 21, 1999, we struck a new chapter in Armenia's history which is being updated through our joint efforts today. We won the war, overcame the crisis and succeeded a high economic growth, built up modern-type State institutions strong with a developing social-political environment and great potential for upward movement: this is what is written in this chapter. Yet, I am convinced that we will replenish its contents with new records.
There have been numerous challenges: homeless families, poverty, corruption, ignored rights. We have felt sorry for phenomena like these and attempted to combat them, but never gave up loving our homeland. We have been sober-minded in our love and this very sobriety still keeps calling us to back the continuous upward movement of our State through hard work, dedication and care.
Congratulating you once again on the Day of Independence, I am confident that all the future victories will be achieved for the sake and to the benefit of the Republic of Armenia.
