Today RA Minister of Territorial Administration Mr. Hovik Abrahamyan has received Vice President of the World Bank Mr. Shigeo Katzou at the Office of Government.
The Parties have discussed the progress in the implementation of WB-sponsored water supply and irrigation programs in Armenia, as well as the prospects for future cooperation. With reference to the programs underway in the fields of water supply and irrigation, Mr. Abrahamyan expressed satisfaction with the pace of progress by mentioning that continuity in similar programs would have a positive impact in terms of maintaining the current trends of economic development and improving public welfare in the country. At the same time, the Minister has touched upon the problems encountered during the implementation stage and expressed the hope that they would be possibly addressed with the help of the World Bank.
In stressing that the management of the Bank looked with certain optimism upon the successful implementation of WB programs in Armenia, Mr. Shigeo Katzou said that the questions raised would be discussed in detail and given concrete solutions in the near future. He suggested discussing the possibility of developing and implementing a new program covering the whole system of water supply and water drainage. Appreciative of Armenia
