Today, at the invitation of Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Brazauskas, the Prime Minister A. Margaryan-led Armenian delegation has arrived in Vilnius, capital of Lithuania, for a 3-day official visit. The delegation is comprised of Minister of Finance and Economy Mr. Vardan Khachatryan, Minister of Trade and Economic Development Mr. Karen Cheshmarityan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Armen Baybourdyan, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Mr. Levon Roukhkyan, MP Mr. Martin Soukiasyan, department heads from the Government Staff and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, other dignitaries. The government delegation will be accompanied by a group of business circle representatives, including Director General of the Armenian Development Agency Mr. Vahagn Movsisyan, President of the Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Martin Sargsyan, CEOs of a number of companies.
Later in the evening, the Prime Minister and the members of the delegation went to see the sights and got acquainted with the historical and architectural monuments of the centuries-old Older Vilnius, which is acknowledged to be a universal value by the UNESCO. Then Prime Minister A. Margaryan met with the representatives of Lithuania-based Armenian community.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to have meetings with President of Lithuania Valdas Adamcus and Prime Minister Algirdas Brazauskas tomorrow, on June 30.
