Today RA Prime Minister A. Margaryan has visited the Armenian Academy of Chess on the occasion of the brilliant victory won by the pupils of the Academy at the 2004 juniors championship of Europe.
By congratulating the management, the teaching staff of the Academy and the successful young players for this impressive achievement, A. Margaryan presented computers to Robert Aghasaryan and his coach, who won the championship among 10-year old players, as well as to Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, winner of a silver medal in the contest of the 12-year old. The Prime Minister stressed that henceforth the trainers of the first place winners as well would get prizes like that for any such outstanding achievement. Then A. Margaryan extended his best wishes of success to those young players who were scheduled to take part in the forthcoming world championship of juniors.
Serzh Sargsyan, RA Defense Minister and President of the Armenian Chess Federation, joined the Prime Minister in congratulating and wishing every success to the pupils of the Academy.
Grand Master Smbat Lpoutyan, President of the Academy, on behalf of the management, teachers and pupils of the Academy expressed his sincere appreciation of the thought and support provided to chess in our country at such a high level and assured that this kind of approach would bear fruits in future as well. In closing, on the part of the Academy itself, Smbat Lpoutyan handed in prizes to the winners and their teachers and coaches.
