Today RA Prime Minister A. Margaryan has received the delegation headed by His Excellency Jorgen Kosmo, Speaker of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Norwege.
In mentioning the recent upward trends of relationship between Armenia and Norwege, including the interparliamentary ties and the collaboration in the framework of international organizations, both sides expressed themselves for their further strengthening. The Prime Minister expressed the hope that this first visit to Armenia of the Speaker of Norwegian Parliament would be a strong impetus for the furtherance of bilateral relations. The Parties have prioritized the consolidation of the legal framework applicable between the two countries. They expressed concern about the fact that only one such instrument had been signed so far with another one being under discussion. Mr. A. Margaryan noted that Armenia was prepared to forward to the Norwegian side for consideration the drafts of cooperation agreements for mutual protection and promotion of investments, avoidance of double-taxing, cultural, scientific, educational cooperation and so on. Considering that in spite of its failure to become a EU-member, Norwege abode by the fundamental principles of all-European policies pursued in both political and economic areas, the Prime Minister briefed Mr. Kosmo on Armenia
