RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia Andrea Johanna-Maria Victorin.
The Ambassador who started her diplomatic mission in our country about 3 months ago has mentioned that the current level of relationship between Germany and Armenia indicates that there is a good outlook for the development of bilateral cooperation. She said to be prepared to deepen the Armenian-German relationship and expand the cooperation from year to year during her term in office in close cooperation with the government of Armenia. The Prime Minister wished the Ambassador every success in her mission and stressed in turn that the government of Armenia was interested in the development of cooperation with Germany both under its European integration policy and on a bilateral level.
Serzh Sargsyan mentioned with satisfaction Germany
's support to our country on the way to inclusion in the European Neighborhood Policy and went on to stress that Germany was held as a key partner of Armenia in the European Neighborhood Policy. The head of the Armenian government said that, as a leading EU-member country, Germany could assume an important role in the implementation of EU-Armenia Action Plan which was approved last year. In this connection, the Ambassador has noted that her country was a keen advocate of Armenia's inclusion in this program and will do everything in its power to assist Armenia on the way to European integration.On behalf of the German government, Ms. Andrea Johanna-Maria Victorin expressed readiness to assist Armenia with the efforts for holding the upcoming presidential elections in accordance with the international standards. Here, she evoked the favorable opinion voiced by international observers about the latest parliamentary elections and said that this provided a solid framework for the success of the forthcoming poll.
