RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan received the delegation of the central board of Ramgavar Azadagan Party of Armenia, which was led by chief of RAP secretariat Mike Kharapian.
On greeting the delegation, the Prime Minister said to have always held in greatest respect our traditional parties and that he believed that those political forces concerned with the progress and strengthening of our State and the growth in the population
's welfare might play an important role in these processes by uniting their efforts and potentialities. Prioritizing the strengthening of Armenia-Diaspora linkages, the Prime Minister noted that the strength of the Motherland and the Diaspora consisted in their unity and cooperation, and that Armenia's traditional parties could go a long way towards the promotion thereof. On behalf of the members of his delegation, Mr. Kharapian thanked the Prime Minister for a warm welcome and open-hearted conversation and said that as the RAP headquarters had so far been far away from the motherland, his party was prevented from the possibility of putting its potential to the service of the native land and people. In this connection, currently the leadership of the RAP was discussing in Yerevan the question of moving its headquarters into Motherland. According to the chief of RAP secretariat, this decision was facilitated thanks to the policies pursued by Armenian authorities over the past decade, as well as the desire to get a closer view of and take a greater share in the reform processes underway in Armenia. Meeting participants informed the Prime Minister of their initiative to convene an inter-party conference in Yerevan one of these days in attendance of the traditional parties and expressed hope that forums like this would be held on a regular basis in future.
Welcoming the expressed intentions, Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan wished the RAP every success in the realization of said undertakings. In the course of the meeting, the Prime Minister has also answered the questions asked by the members of the delegation.
