Today RA charitable programs coordination government commission has held a regular meeting presided at by commission chairman Mr. S. Ter-Simonyan.
The commission has discussed 12 charitable projects, including: a Hayastan All-Armenian Fund-sponsored project for the rehabilitation of water-mains in Shamakhian, Aiguestan and Ivanovo streets of Dilijan town of Tavoush marz, a NAS Institute of History-implemented project for creating literature on the Armenian Cause, Armenian Genocide and History of Diaspora under Mesrop Archbishop Ashjian series, establishing of a memorial statue to Rev. Mesrop, a World Vision International Armenia Office-implemented program for import and distribution of medical supplies to health care institutions.
The meeting has discussed and approved the following projects carried out by Lori marz administration: upgrades of Koghes local road network, rehabilitation of Yaghdan community's drinking water supply system, refurbishment of the road section linking Alaverdi community with Sanahin-Sarahart district, construction and refurbishment of Shamloukh intra-community road, as well as construction of water-filtering station and drinking water-supply systems in Akhtalah community.
The Commission has approved the grant-loan program implemented by the Armenia branch office of the Open Society Institute's Relief Fund, which is aimed at the creation of a new progressive educational environment by promoting the development of civil society in Armenia, which in its turn is supposed to set up favorable conditions for cultural activities and inter-marz cooperation.
The meeting has also approved the projects for capital repairs of the cultural center in Yeghvard town and the rehabilitation of the community hall in Lernanist village as implemented by the Social Investment Fund of Armenia, as well as the COAF Childrens Charity Fund-implemented projects implying provision of amenities for School No. 2, Kindergartens No.1 and No.2 in Karakert village of Armavir marz.
The meeting has also discussed and approved a number of sub-contracts passed under previous programs, as well as several projects concerning the import of freight destined to different organizations operating in Armenia.
