RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan's Address on Opening of Second Congress of Confederation of Trade Unions of Armeni
Dear Delegates and Guests!
I welcome you on the occasion of the opening the second congress of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia.
The Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia, which unites 23 republican branch unions, has about 4700 trade-union organizations and over 400.000 members, is one of powerful organizations of our country. Today a really favorable operational field has been created for the organization. The role of trade unions is irreplaceable by way of representation of professional, economic and social rights and interests of workers in their relationship with State bodies, local self-government entities and employers, as well as in terms of their protection in labor relations. The trade unions are allocated large powers for the realization of this role. From this point of view, we have great expectations from your effective activity.
I wish the congress productive work and interested discussions to the benefit the constant and growing role of this major institution in the economic and public life of our country.
