RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Armenia Ioannis Corinthios. First, the Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and expressed hope that his activities will help strengthen the Armenian-Greek relationship and boost the centuries-old friendship between our two peoples. "I am happy the economic cooperation between our two countries has come to keep pace with the political dialog and is showing tendency for expansion and diversification,"-Serzh Sargsyan said by pointing out the growing interest of Greek businessmen to the Armenian market. The Prime Minister prioritized the furtherance of ties on both bilateral and multilateral levels, including in the frame of international organizations.
Ambassador Ioannis Corinthios assured that he would do everything to strengthen the Armenian-Greek relationship and use to the maximum the existing potential of interaction. According to the Ambassador, bilateral relations are excellent in number of spheres: defense, agriculture etc., notwithstanding, much has to be done yet in terms of increasing the trade turnover, boosting investments, implementing mutually beneficial prospective programs that may be promoted by the activities of the Armenian-Greek intergovernmental commission. "The government of Armenia is taking practical steps to demonstrate its readiness to develop the relationship between our two countries and I believe that, coupled with such readiness, the strong willingness and aspiration available on both sides will help us achieve the desired outcome," - the Greek Ambassador said during the meeting with the RA Prime Minister.
