Today RA Prime Minister A. Margaryan has received the delegation headed by Mr. Rafayel Bielsa, Minister for Foreign Relations, International Trade and Religion of the Republic of Argentina.

With reference to the current status and the prospects of the Armenian-Argentinian relationship, the Parties noted that the lack of political problems between Armenia and Argentina was conducive to effective development of bilateral and multilateral relationship. They said to be satisfied with the current level of bilateral cooperation within international organizations and the UN, in particular. The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation of the support extended on the part of Argentina in terms of Armenia's re-election in the UN Human Rights Commission in 2004, as well as during the voting of the draft resolution on the Convention on Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide as moved by Armenia at the 57th session of said commission and, finally, for the adoption by the Argentinian Senate of a resolution condemning the Armenian Genocide. Similarly, Prime Minister A. Margaryan said to be hopeful that, as in the past, Argentina would abide by its constructive stance towards the Karabakh problem within international instances. The Prime Minister reassured his guest that, for its part, Armenia was prepared to support Argentina within the international organizations as much as possible.

Also, Prime Minister A. Margaryan and Foreign Minister R. Biesla expressed satisfaction at the level of bilateral cooperation in the economic field. In this respect, they stressed the signing of the agreement on joint management of Zvartnots Airport by the government of the Republic of Armenia, on one side, and "Corporacion America" in the person of Mr. Edouardo Eurnekian, on the other. According to Mr. Bielsa, the present not so high level of trade turnover between the two countries has real prospects for future enhancement considering that sizeable projects are currently under discussion for the expansion of Zvartnots Airport, which are supposed to promote Argentina's economic interests not only in Armenia, but also in the whole region. In his turn, Prime Minister A. Margaryan has emphasized the need of boosting mutually beneficial economic cooperation in the region.

In conclusion, Prime Minister A. Margaryan and Foreign Minister Rafayel Bielsa expressed confidence that the existing robust ties of friendship and the sound legal framework would go far away towards facilitating joint action in various fields by making use of the strength and potentialities of the Armenian diaspora of Argentina.
