RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan welcomed the delegation led by Chairman of Managing Board of "Gazprombank" OJSC Andrei Akimov.
According to the Prime Minister, by getting involved in Armenia as one of Russia's leading banking institutions, Gazprombank would promote considerably the development of the cooperation between the two countries in financial and banking sectors. Serzh Sargsyan said that the RA government prioritized the establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation with outstanding and notorious banking entities, such as Gazprombank. He assured that, for many years now, our country has been striving to make the domestic business environment more attractive to major investment by taking steps towards legislative improvements. The Prime Minister stressed that this was promoted by the sustained economic growth of recent years, as well as by the increased volume of foreign investments.
Thanking the government and the Prime Minister of Armenia for support, Andrei Akimov said that his company's interaction with Armenia was interesting and prospective. He assured that Gazprombank's involvement in Armenia would aim the strengthening and further development of our country's banking and financial sectors. According to him, there are good opportunities up for investment in various spheres of the Armenian economy, inclusive of the energy sector, susceptible to be facilitated by the availability of important human capacity.
At the close of the meeting, having wished Gazprombank every success in its undertakings in Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan said that the Government of Armenia was ready to discuss any proposal and initiative concerning the development of a mutually beneficial cooperation and would assist with implementation thereof within the limits of its powers.
