On February 23, Serzh Sargsyan was visited by Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, accompanied by clergy from the Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin. Once again, The Catholicos congratulated Serzh Sargsyan and offered his patriarchal blessing on victory in Armenia's presidential elections. He further expressed satisfaction in connection with developing State-Church relationship and expressed hope that these relations will henceforth develop with as much success.
The parties also spoke of the post-election processes. Inappreciative of any manifestation of intolerance, the Catholicos expressed hope that prudence and judiciousness will triumph after all.
Serzh Sargsyan assured that the authorities are interested and do everything to ensure that post-election developments are kept in the frames of legality, and the voters' opinion as expressed in the elections was not ignored.
Serzh Sargsyan has assured that competent authorities stand ready to properly discharge their duties relating to the maintenance of order and legality in the country.
