Congratulatory messages continue to be received in connection with the election of Serzh Sargsyan as President of the Republic of Armenia.

The message sent by Secretary-General of the Council of Europe Right Hon Terry Davis states in part:

"Dear President-elect,

I am writing you to congratulate you on your election as President of Armenia.

Following the recent parliamentary and presidential elections, the Armenian people have now chosen the leaders who will be responsible for the ongoing reform program. For our part, the Council of Europe will continue to assist Armenia in meeting all the challenges which stem from the commitments undertaken by Armenia at the time of joining our organization.

I wish you every success in your new duties, and I look forward to meeting you again in the near future."

On behalf of the people and the government of Mexico, President of the Untied States of Mexico Felipe Calderon Hinojosa has congratulated Serzh Sargsyan on his election as President of Armenia. The message states in part:

"Wishing you every success in your responsible duties, I am convinced that the joint work of our two governments will help strengthen the ties between Mexico and Armenia on both bilateral and multilateral levels.

The congratulatory message sent by Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand Samak Sundaravej to Serzh Sargsyan on his election to the office of President of the Republic of Armenia states in part:

"On behalf of the government and the people of Thailand, I have the honor of extending to you my warm congratulations and best wishes on your election as President of the Republic of Armenia.

I am convinced that under your wise leadership the ties of friendship between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Republic of Armenia will continue developing to the benefit of our two countries and peoples."
