Today a session of the Governing Council of Millenium Challenge Account-Armenia SNCO has been held at the Office of Government, presided at by council chairman, RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan.

The Governing Council has discussed and approved the results of the tenders invited for road section rehabilitation activities stipulated in a contract signed under the rural road rehabilitation sub-program of the MCA-Armenia program. The Council has also discussed the proposals contained in the objection letter received from the Millenium Challenge Corporation concerning the competition announced for purchase of consulting services under the "Irrigation management entities' capacity building" activity of the Infrastructure component of the Irrigated Agriculture sub-program of MCA-Armenia program.

Among other agenda items, MCA-Armenia SNCO Executive Director Ara Hovsepyan advised that consulting services are envisaged to be purchased for implementation of the Ararat valley drainage system rehabilitation design and construction monitoring activities under the Infrastructure component of the Irrigated Agriculture sub-program of the MCA-Armenia program. In order to carry out these tasks, it has been suggested to send off proper notices to reasonably experienced consultants for expression of interest.

In conclusion, the meeting took note of the amendments introduced by the Governing Council in the procurement plans as approved on February 7 and March 12, 2008 respectively.
