Today RA Prime Minister A. Margaryan has received the delegation headed by Chief of RF General Headquarters, First Deputy Minister of Defense of Russian Federation, Army General Yuri Balouyevsky.
Appreciative of the steadily developing Armenian-Russian relationships in the political, economic, military, humanitarian and other fields, the parties have stated that the bilateral cooperation had been considerably promoted by the recent Yerevan meeting of Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation and the earlier Moscow meeting of the intergovernmental commission on military and technical cooperation. Work is underway to finalize the agreements between the two governments on the protection of intellectual property rights in the military sphere, cooperation in the matters relating to the export of military products towards third countries which, according to them, will be an additional incentive for the furtherance of the mutually beneficial cooperation in the field at hand. At the same time, Andranik Margaryan and Yuri Balouevski have called attention upon a number of problems, including, in particular, the creation of Armenian-Russian joint military industries, the re-commissioning of Yerevan-Rostov strategic railway line in accordance with the agreement signed at the 2003 April meeting held in Doushanbe in the framework of the Collective Security Agreement, the improvements to the battle, technical and rear provision preparedaness of the Armenia-stationed joint armed forces, ratification of the 2005 June agreement on the formation and training of regular officers for CSA-member countries etc.
In conclusion, the Prime Minister and the Chief of RF General Headquarters have reiterated that apart from being successful at this point of time, the Armenian-Russian strategic partnership enjoyed good prospects of development as well.
