RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation headed by IMF Permanent Representative in Armenia Ninke Omes.
First, the IMF Permanent Representative congratulated Tigran Sargsyan on his appointment to the office of Prime Minister and wished him success. The parties discussed questions concerning the cooperation between the government of Armenia and the IMF. Both sides have emphasized the need for implementing reforms in the tax and customs spheres and touched upon the steps to take in this direction.
With a view to improving the professional skills of relevant staffs, the Prime Minister pointed out the necessity of holding regular trainings, getting rid of corrupt staff, recruiting young and highly competent specialists. As a basic tool for administrative improvements, Tigran Sargsyan mentioned the public control and added that such was the approach of the President of the Republic.
In conclusion, IMF Permanent Representative expressed readiness to continue cooperating with the new government and its chairman, following the example of the ongoing effective cooperation with the Central Bank of Armenia.
