RA government commission on coordination of welfare programs met, chaired by commission chairman Simon Ter-Simonyan.
The commission has discussed 5 programs, including: design and sewing of ceremonial robes for congregation members and students, as well as work clothes for the staff of Gevorgyan Seminary by the Holy See of St Echmiadzin, and a program funded by the World Vision International referred to as "Creation of alleyways in Darbas, Gorhaik and Karahunj communities of Sunik marz of Armenia."
Another program carried out by the Vanadzor Old-Age Asylum Foundation will provide for a round-the-clock routine, medical and psychological care of the lonely and vulnerable residents of the asylum. The program carried out by "Our Home" welfare organization will seek to provide housing, education, profession, know-how and the possibility for social adaptation to Armenian orphanage leavers.
The meeting has also endorsed the "Huysi Shogh" program by the Armenia branch of the American-Armenian Evangelical Association to procure food, clothing, everyday amenities and sanitary supplies for vulnerable households, kindergartens, summer camps and educational-cultural centers.
The meeting has also discussed and approved several sub-programs under the standing ones, as well as projects on import of charitable freight destined to various organizations operational in Armenia.
