RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received Head of the Statistics Service of Italy Luigi Biggeri and Director of the Office of International Cooperation of the Statistics Service of Italy Claudia Cingolani.
The guests said the purpose of their visit was providing Armenia with legislative harmonization-related technical assistance in the area of data processing and statistics confidentiality.
The Prime Minister noted the importance of the ongoing cooperation between the statistics services of Armenia and Italy which was said to be quite efficacious on either side. In this regard, Mr. Biggeri said that their Armenian counterparts have followed the Italian experience to some extent and have recorded noticeable progress in this area.
As assured by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Armenia is striving to become a regional leader in this sphere and would benefit very much from the cooperation with the Statistics Service of Italy which is considered to be among the best and influential ones both in the EU and all over the world.
Looking forward to being backed by the Statistics Service of Italy in this field, the head of RA government discussed with his guests a number of issues relating to statistics, inclusive of financial data collection and processing.
