RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received outgoing ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Armenia Marina Dolgopolova.
Appreciative of the Ambassador's over five-year-long efficacious diplomatic work in our country, the Prime Minister indicated that the bilateral relations have experienced a serious shift over this period in both the political and economic spheres. He pointed out the remarkable progress in the field of economic cooperation, especially against a background of persisting logistical bottlenecks.
Marina Dolgopolova stressed that as the first Belarusian ambassador to Armenia, since the very first days of her tenure she has been attempting to strengthen the bilateral ties. She expressed satisfaction at the fact that a solid groundwork is up for developing mutually advantageous cooperation between the two countries. By stating the achievements in political, economic, cultural, scientific and educational fields, the Ambassador highlighted the cooperation in the field of innovations, information technologies, between individual administrative units, as well as in developing the regions and small settlements where there is a lot of common ground for joint endeavors.
The parties concurred in that notwithstanding the tangible rise in trade turnover between the two countries, still an important share of the economic interaction potential remains unused. In this light, the need for boosting the activities of the Armenian-Belarusian intergovernmental commission was emphasized on either side.
In conclusion, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan wished Marina Dolgopolova every success in her diplomatic career and expressed confidence that her successor will be as much successful in contributing to the development of bilateral relations.
