The partied have discussed a railway network expanding and developing agenda as Armenia's economic development dictates, as well as issues relevant to a concession agreement-based handover of Armenian railways system to Russian Railway OJSC-controlled South Caucasian Railway CJSC. The Prime Minister underscored that as indicated by the RA President, a broad range of issues and specific projects important to our economy need discussing with the management of Russian Railway OJSC. In his words, they may become a serious factor in promoting stability in the region. Tigran Sargsyan advised that a consultative meeting held in early September discussed the status of the obligations assumed under the stated concession agreement. Instructions were said to have been issued providing for timely implementation of the projected activities. Progress would be reported back to the Prime Minister on a regular basis.

Vladimir Yakunin thanked the Prime Minister and the President of Armenia for their care for and appreciation of the railway's importance to economic development and assured that either himself is going to demand proper observance of contractual obligations and adequate use of corresponding infrastructures available in Armenia as this may solve many of those challenges facing the country.

RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan assured in turn that the government will see these efforts through in order to complete the current tasks through concerted action and then push ahead with development programs.
