Today the Jubilee Commission on preparation of celebrations of the 1600th anniversary of creation of the Armenian alphabet by Mesrop Mashtotz has held its final meeting at the Office of Government, which was chaired by Republic of Armenia Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan, chairman of commission.
It was reported that the program developed by the commission had been realized and completed in full. Moreover, an international conference and an exhibition of books had been organized successfully jointly with Matenadaran one of these days in the Alexandrian Library (Egypt). over More than thirty different actions were held during 2005 through joint efforts of the ministries of culture and youth affairs, education and a science, as well as the town hall of Yerevan, the National Academy of Sciences, Matenadaran, the Yerevan State University, the Union of Writers of Armenia etc.
It was noted that 25 major events were completely financed at the expense of public funds. A surplus of 102 million 93,5 thousand drams were reported to have been earmarked from the Government
