RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received outgoing Ambassador of Israel to Armenia Ehud Gol. The Prime Minister expressed our country's keen interest in developing relations with the State of Israel and said to be confident that all the necessary pre-conditions are up for opening a new chapter in the history of bilateral relationship. Tigran Sargsyan stated his government's initiatives aimed at strengthening these ties and, in this context, highlighted the ongoing effective cooperation with the Jewish community of Armenia. The head of the Armenian government prioritized the opening of Israel's embassy in Armenia which in his words will help further the Armenian-Israeli ties and will promote diversified and pro-active relations between the two countries.
The parties then referred to the latest developments in the settlement of Armenia-Turkey ties, namely the soccer diplomacy, and discussed the possibilities for Israel to contribute to this process. In this light, they spoke about the present-day challenges facing the Caucasian region.
At the end of the meeting, Tigran Sargsyan thanked the Ambassador for his tenure-long efforts towards the furtherance of the Armenian-Israeli ties and expressed hope that Ehud Gol will continue promoting them whenever possible.
The Israeli ambassador assured of his willingness to do so by noting that he holds himself a friend of our country.
