A session of RA government’s charitable project coordination commission took place, chaired by commission head Simon Ter-Simonyan.
The commission has considered 12 charitable programs. In particular, there have been discussed and authorized Hayastan All-Armenian Fund-sponsored “Water supply system reorganization design in Dzoramut Village of Lori marz,” “Water supply system reorganization design in Nernadzor village of Syunik marz,” “Study and research of irrigation systems in frontier villages of Tavush marz,” “Construction of gas-supply networks in frontier villages of Tavush marz,” “Design of capital repairs in the obstetrical ward of “St. Virgin’s Medical Center” maternity hospital of Yerevan,” “Design of construction new water-mains in Sargsashen village of Martuni region of the NKR,” “Design of water supply and sewage system rehabilitation in Askeran town of the NKR” and “Distribution of awareness raising printed materials for fund raising purposes in 2008.”
A program to be carried out by Agrogitaspyur department of the State Agrarian University of Armenia will streamline and improve issues relating to social and economic, geographical, ecological and political aspects of security in the neighboring countries of South Caucasus. Another project to be carried out by Vienna Vision welfare fund will help improve the eyesight of children in Shirak marz through free distribution of glasses to invalids and children from vulnerable households.
Otevan Christian Youth Association will implement two projects referred to as “Partial repair of the premises of the Migration Agency by the Ministry of Territorial Administration of the Republic of Armenia” and “Assistance to a day-time care center support program, implemented by “Salvation” relief center for disabled children and youth.
The meeting has also discussed and approved several sub-programs under the standing ones, as well as projects on import of charitable freight destined to various organizations operational in Armenia.
