RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a group of participants of the world congress of sociologists, led by Director of the International Sociological Institute Bjorn Vitrok.
Greeting the guests, the head of the Armenian government stressed that the world just needs having the expert community comment on current social phenomena and expressed hope that the delegates of the congress – highly reputed experts representing 50 countries, 89 universities and research centers - will come up with new ideas to help understand the existing challenges, analyze the causes, consequences and the ways out of the global crisis.
Highlighting the impact of sociological surveys on the design of government policies, the parties have discussed modalities for sustained government – sociologist cooperation. During the meeting, the guests attempted to outline their respective countries’ experience, as well as to introduce the latest theoretical and methodological achievements scored in this field.
