RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attended the DigiTec Business annual forum on information, telecommunication and high technologies in Mariott-Armenia Hotel.

Opening remarks were delivered by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.

Traditionally the forum addresses technological solutions for banking and financial sectors, small and medium-size businesses, tourism, trade and warehousing, construction and transport, public sector, cargo transportations, medicine and pharmaceutics.

Tigran Sargsyan described the forum as a rostrum enabling IT companies to showcase products and services, as well as progress and achievements realized over a period of a year. Would-be customers are provided the opportunity to pick up valuable goods and services.

The head of the Armenian government expressed satisfaction at the fact that even amidst a global crisis, the IT sector managed to score a 20% growth over the last year: “Increased productivity is the best way to cope with the crisis, and the IT sector is among those specific areas offering efficiency- and competitiveness-oriented solutions to different branches of economy,” the Prime Minister said. He went on to emphasize that the Government is acting as a customer at the forum and, in this respect, will set an example to entrepreneurs. The Prime Minister stressed that his government has a bias for providing the State machinery with modern information technologies as it deems that here too there is a need in higher productivity.

25 companies and 1500 businessmen took part in the Conference.
