RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan traveled to Gegharkunik marz on a working visit to get acquainted with the activities of the educational forum - campus organized under the For Country Reform and Modernization Program of “Miasin” (“Together”) all-Armenian youth movement.. The forum seeks to mobilize organized and educated representatives of Armenian youth towards the nation’s sustainable development.
The Prime Minister exchanged views with forum participants regarding the prospects of economic development in Armenia, the impact of the global financial and economic crisis on our country, the implications of knowledge-based economy, as well as on youth-related problems. Concerning the current global economic trends, Tigran Sargsyan noted in particular: “Financiers and economists worldwide are divided in their opinion about the crisis. Some of them hold that cyclic depressions are characteristic of market economy, others think that today’s downturn is not at all a regular crisis, and we can witness the emergence of a new world and a new society. Anyway, it seems to be obvious that we are going through a period full of challenges, which can likewise offer vast opportunities. Crisis is a situation when one can no longer rely on such laws as used to be applicable before, with specific threats emerging in a new world.

Speaking about the importance of knowledge and schooling and the role to be played by youth, Tigran Sargsyan said: “Thought is the basis of the modern world. We live in a quickly changing world. Each of you should be able to think, plan and operate according to the situation... We are doomed to permanent study. We must have the aptitude of dealing with new knowledge and thinking independently. Society should get rid of old stereotypes to build up wealth.”
Then, the head of government answered the questions of campus participants and was briefed on their daily routine.
The Prime Minister’s next port of call was Dilijan town where he inaugurated a new-built block of a school building. Capital repair and improvement have been carried out by Dilijanshin OJSC. The new block can host 250 students annually.

Mindful of the importance of school-building activities in the country, the Prime Minister promised to henceforth keep in focus the development of the educational sector.

In conclusion, the head of the executive visited the municipal library of Dilijan under capital repair and the high school No.1, the community-funded newly built amphitheater, the picture gallery – museum and the Tufenkian complex.
