On Teacher’s Day, RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan handed in awards to the best teachers of the Republic.
A number of teachers were presented with the Prime Minister’s commemorative medals and letters of appreciation. The winners in the year’s best teacher and best educator categories received cars.
In his speech, the head of government prioritized the teacher’s mission by noting that in recent years the State has taken serious steps to assess at its true value the role of our teachers.
Addressing those present, the head of government said in particular, “Our country’s future depends on the teachers’ work. As a matter of fact, in the 21st century knowledge is not only the basis of the economy, but also that of our society. Teachers are supposed to gain knowledge on a daily basis because the world is changing rapidly, and knowledge proves out of date every day. We want to have a modern-type teacher which means that the State should provide for our teachers’ continued training and re-training.”
Summing up his remarks, Tigran Sargsyan stressed the importance of school building activities and the decision of the problems encountered.
