The head of government welcomed Olivier Descamps, EBRD Business Group Director for South Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus
RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation led by EBRD Business Group Director for South Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus Olivier Descamps.
Mr. Descamps conveyed his appreciation of RA Government’s anti-crisis policy and hailed Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s budget statement at the National Assembly. He said that the EBRD is going to realize a record USD 150MN-worth investment package this year. Armenian reforms were said to be highly courageous. The EBRD Director assured that the Bank is interested in the creation of pension and insurance funds in Armenia. Among many other programs, the Bank will be assisting small and medium-size enterprises with energy-saving projects. The parties also spoke about the project of North-South transportations corridor.
The possibility for the EBRD to get involved in the free economic zone project on a site next to Zvartnots airport was touched upon during the meeting.
