Control over the medium-term expenditure program
Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Cabinet met in a planned session at the Office of Government.
Before proceeding to the agenda, the Prime Minister addressed the cabinet members in attendance: “I am today assigning the following task to all the ministers: each of you must take control of the medium-term expenditure program so that it can be collated with the President’s electoral program. As efforts are underway due to be completed this June, all the ministers will have to report back in writing the problems encountered on the way to achieving the targets set in the President’s electoral program. The reports shall specify those problems having to do with worsened macroeconomic indicators in 2009. You are expected to submit the reports within the next couple of weeks so that we can work with each minister separately.”
The Government has decided that the families of Hovhannes Apinyan, Haik Margaryan and Samvel Petrosyan should be accommodated within the housing estate under construction in Lori marz in the frame of the rural housing construction program.
The Cabinet approved the list of sports equipment to be purchased under the program of procurement intended for junior sports schools, sport federations and other such establishments.
The Government approved the procedure to follow in admitting students to State-run higher educational institutions.
The Government next endorsed the action plan of the “Come Back Home – 2010” program intended for homeland visiting Diaspora youth. The Cabinet decreed to approve the list of Armenia’s intangible assets and the set of eligibility criteria applicable to domestic assets of intangible heritage.
The Cabinet has decided to set up a North – South Highway Corridor PIU SNCO by defining its tasks, objectives, statutes and by-laws.
The meeting has amended a previous decision concerning Armenia’s official participation in Shangai Expo – 2010 world exposition. The locally-based Armenia Section of Expo 2010 organization was entrusted with the preparations for said event.
A series of bills were endorsed for submission to the National Assembly.
To comply with the rulings issued by the European Court of Justice under Karapetyan vs Armenia, Stepanyan vs Armenia and Khachatryan vs Armenia lawsuits, the Government has decided to allocate to the Ministry of Justice the claimed amounts in Armenian dram equivalent of Euro 7500, 2200 and 1745 respectively from the reserve fund of the government.
The Executive has endorsed the draft agreement between the Government of Armenia and the Eurasian Development Bank on the terms and conditions of EDB operations in Armenia.
The sitting has decided to publish the Armenian version of the international standards, as well as the relevant guidelines applicable to financial statements.
Bearing in mind violinist Sergey Khachatryan’s exceptional musical achievements and the recommendations received from renowned Armenian art critics, the Government has decided to exempt him from mandatory military service.
