RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan is taking part in the session of the group of the bureau of the European People’s Party
Yesterday the session of the group of the bureau of the European People’s Party started in Karlovi Vari (Czech Republic) attended by RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
The session agenda includes: challenges and prospects facing Eastern Partnership, the European strategy for 2020, fight against criminality, money-laundering, as well as job concerns. The session which is held under the motto “Eastern Partnership: challenges and prospects for the European continent” will be preceded by opening remarks.
The session is attended by the leadership of the European People’s Party, high-ranking officials and influential statesmen from European countries and the Czech Republic.
EPP group bureau chairman Joseph Dowl welcomed the presence on this forum of RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and leader of Free Belarus movement Alexander Milinkevich. He noted that the EPP group favors the cooperation with the Eastern partners, which is based not only on business contacts, but also on cooperation in the spheres of democracy, freedom, rule of law, education and culture.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and chairperson of the Christian Democrat Party of the Czech Republic Syrill Swoboda will deliver statements followed with discussions attended by Chairman of the European Parliament Derzi Buzek.
The European People’s Party was founded in 1976, with its headquarters located in Brussels. This major European party is characterized as a right-centrist political force. EPP membership comprises 72 parties from 39 countries.
On the sidelines of his visit, later today Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan will meet with Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Jan Fisher in Prague.
