Challenges and responses discussed at the ITDSC sitting
The Information Technology Development Support Council met at the Office of Government, chaired by Council Chair, RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
Before proceeding to the agenda, the meeting reviewed the implementation status of previous sittings’ assignments.
Council members were reported on the pace of preparations for the ArmTech-2010. They were introduced to the essence of the concept note on formation of e-society in Armenia. The Prime Minister emphasized that a council on e-government should be established to deal with concept implementation practicalities.
IT Enterprise Union Executive Director Karen Vardanyan came up with an analytical account of control measures applicable to the export and transit via Armenia of dual-purpose goods and technologies. The meeting looked at the necessity and expediency of amending the RA Law on Control of Export and Transit of Dual-Purpose Goods and Technologies via the Republic of Armenia. Tigran Sargsyan instructed to establish a task force which will discuss and submit proposals in writing concerning the specification and improvement of enforcement procedures for this law.
In conclusion, the meeting touched upon the need for streamlining the exchange of traffic between the public networks of e-communications, including the founding of a web traffic exchange center fund in Armenia.
