Jobs available in the provinces




Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Government met in a regular session at the Office of Government.

The Government allocated AMD 3571614.09 thousand from its reserve fund to the Ministry of Transport and Communication for the capital repair, technical control, author’s control and design work such road sections as have been damaged or collapsed as a result of landslides and other natural emergencies. The Prime Minister said that frequent rainfalls have caused an unprecedented situation countrywide. He called attention on the quality of implemented works and urged to make the best possible use of the propitious summer weather to eliminate the consequences of said disasters.

The Government next amended a previous decision to allocate AMD113,000.0 thousand to the Ministry of Urban Development in order to address the strong wind-caused damage to the roofs of school buildings nationwide on March 15 and 16, 2010. Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan noted the extreme importance and necessity of completing these activities by September 1 when the new academic year will start.

The Government decided to extend until May 5, 2014 the “temporary import” customs regime for Ararat Group OJSC-imported goods. The Company has imported state-of-the-art equipment and technologies to set up mineral water- and soft drink-bottling units on the territory of the Republic of Armenia. It has already invested some USD 5mn to build production facilities in Artashat town. Additional 22 million dollars out of a total of USD 27mn will be invested by yearend. 220 new jobs will be created to be complemented with as many workplaces in future. The decision was passed in line with domestic laws considering the need for harmonious territorial development and job-extensive activities in the provinces.

The government decided to extend till July 1, 2013, the VAT payment deadline for some goods imported by SPAYKA Ltd in the period from this July 1 to September 30, inclusive of the ones costing above AMD 300mn. The company which organizes international transportations of commodities toward CIS and European countries is set to export fresh fruit from Armenia in the period under review. The program implies investments to a total sum of about USD 11mn, with at least 150 jobs available.

According to RA legislation, the Government decided to allocate from its reserve fund to Shirak and Lori marz administrations AMD 15 861.4 thousand and AMD14 616.7 thousand respectively for completion of Lincy foundation-supported school building capital repair and building activities in Sarakap, Arevshat and Nor Kyank communities of Shirak marz, as well as Spitak and Vanadzor towns of Lori marz before the pre-established deadline of September 1, 2011.

The Government decided to allocate AMD 101,308.5 thousand to the Ministry of Emergency Situations with a view to holding “Armenia – 2010” rescue service exercises in Kotaik marz of Armenia under the NATO Partnership for Peace program from September 11 to 17, 2010. About 1200 people will participate in these NATO-financed drills.

The Government approved the procedure to follow in putting at the service of Republic of Armenia diplomatic missions those donations received from such legal or physical persons as are foreign State nationals by restructuring the current year’s State budget and invalidating the previous document to the same effect.
The Government endorsed the concept note on the complex of social apartments in the Republic of Armenia for destitute elderly persons and homeless people from other social groups. To this end, the Minister of Labor and Social affairs was told to join the Minister of Urban Development in an effort to work out and submit a timetable of activities within a month’s time for the Prime Minister’s consideration. Tigran Sargsyan hailed the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs for the design of this concept and directed the Minister to reward those employees engaged in the development of this paper.
