Russian Railways OJSC President Vladimir Yakunin received by the Prime Minister
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received today a delegation led by headed by Russian Railways OJSC President Vladimir Yakunin. In attendance was RF Ambassador to Armenia Vyacheslav Kovalenko and Director General South-Caucasian Railway CJSC Shevket Shaidullin.
Highly appreciative of the pace of bilateral cooperation, the head of government expressed hope that the delegation’s visit would help review the status of joint programs and outline the tasks ahead.
Thanking the Prime Minister for reception, Mr. Yakunin reported back the details of his visit to the Yerevan railway station. He advised that the station has been brought into conformity with international standards after repair work. He emphasized that South-Caucasian Railway CJSC was prioritizing infrastructure modernization.
The interlocutors touched upon bilateral cooperation-related issues, including the possibility of having Russian Railways’ technical assistance under the north-south corridor project and the two sides’ compliance with the concession agreement signed between the Government of Armenia and Russian Railways OJSC.
