New economic stabilization programs credited
Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Government met in a regular session at the Office of Government.
In compliance with FY2010 State budget law, with a view to financing the first component of the Russian loan-funded economy crediting program based on RA Government Decree N717-A of June 26, 2009, the Government decided to make changes to FY2010 State budget law and amend a previous decision pf government since there are new projects in need of financing under the above-stated first program component. To this end, the State budget will be complemented with additional 5.0 billion drams as withdrawn from the stabilization deposit account.
The Cabinet decided to allocate AMD 40,000.0 thousand to the Staff of Government for transfer to the Kyrgyz government as humanitarian assistance.
A previous decision was amended to define when “Arbun” trade mark shall be used in order to protect the interests of local producers and consumers. In this connection, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan noted that this was necessary as the government’s preceding decision had caused lots of controversial comments on the matter. Armenian brandy must 100% be based on local raw materials. “Arbun” trade name shall be applicable to those liquors prepared with imported alcohol.
The Ministry of Defense was allocated AMD 4,214,323 for transfer to Arm-Aero CJSC in refund of Q1 expenses incurred while providing apron services to RF aircraft bringing in freight for Armenia-dislocated military units.
The Government approved the 2011-2014 Vaiots-Dzor marz social and economic development program, the procedure to follow in registering means of transportation, supplying information on vehicle overhaul findings, mobilizing vehicles for defense purposes. The meeting endorsed the results of the tender announced for the IDA-supported construction of a new first-instance court building in Yeghegnaszor town under the second program of judicial reform awarding the tender to Araratshin OJSC, as well as the results of the open competition announced for the ADB- and World Bank-supported rural and lifeline road rehabilitation program awarding the tender to Gavar RBC OJSC and Idjevan RBC OJSC.
The Executive discussed and approved the proposal to sign the protocol on an 11th amendment to the drug control and law enforcement arrangement between the US and Armenian governments. AMD 11mn worth of assistance has so far been provided to Armenian law enforcement authorities on the part of the Government of the United States under this arrangement which was signed on June 11, 2001. The above 11th amendment provides for disbursement of additional 2.875.284 dollars.
Account taken of violinist Vahe Stepani Rostomyan’s exceptional artistic skills, his numerous awards received at international contests, complying with the recommendations of renowned art workers of Armenia, the Government decided to exempt him from army service.
