Armenian philanthropists’ Avenue will be founded in Yerevan





Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Government met in a regular session at the Office of Government.

To reinstate the protective roof coating of the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater after A. Spendiaryan, the Government decided to allocate to AMD 9630.0 thousand the Ministry of Culture. An area of 600 square meters will be repaired considering that the building is an architectural monument and needs to be kept in proper condition.

The Government decided to hand over the Vanadzor State Art College after M. Tavrizyan-owned academic building at Vardanants – 96 to the Yerevan State Theater and Cinema Institute over an indefinite period of time providing that the building should be offered to the Vanadzor branch for free use.

The Government made redistributions in the FY 2010 State budget. The Cabinet amended a previous decision approving the Armenian philanthropists’ avenue program under which open-air memorial facilities will be installed in Yerevan dedicated to renowned Armenian philanthropists. AMD 21mn will be allocated to the Ministry of Diaspora for program implementation.

The Executive next endorsed a draft presidential decree on establishment of Armenia’s embassy in the Kingdom of Spain. This is expected to give a strong boost to the development of bilateral political, economic and cultural relations.

The Government decided to allocate AMD 17362.5 thousand with the purpose of increasing National TV and Radio Commission staff wages. Amendments and changes were made to two previous decrees providing the Commission with 1060 square meter-wide office space on the first and fourth floors of a building located at Isahakyan - 28 in Yerevan. Instead, the commission-used 408 square meter-wide area at Saryan – 22 as owned by Haypost CJSC was assigned to “Armenpress” JSC.

The Cabinet sitting authorized the State Property Management Department by the Government to hold classic auction sales for TU – 134 listed on the book of “RA Presidential Staff” State administrative establishment. The vessel is estimated to have a starting price of AMD 600,168 thousand.

The Government defined the size of extra payments due to Police staff for overtime, day-off and holiday-day service, as well as for watch-time duty.

15 persons were granted mandatory army service holidays until the end of graduate studies.
