The Prime Minister received all-Armenian educational conference participants
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan welcomed to the Office of Government participants of the fourth all-Armenian educational conference which is held every two years in Armenia.
The meeting discussed the challenges faced by Armenian educational centers abroad in an effort define steps to take on the way to achieving strengthened Homeland-Diaspora cooperation in the field of education.
In attendance of the meeting, the Armenian Ministers of Education and Science and Diaspora briefed the Prime Minister on conference proceedings. The approaches formulated at the conference were said to have outlined new horizons of cooperation in terms of educational reform and identity preservation, in particular.
Highly appreciative of the impact of this forum, the head of government stated in part: “This is the fourth all-Armenian educational forum held in Armenia enabling you to introduce your vision of educational reform to those in charge of education. In the meantime, this is the first such gathering involving the Ministry of Diaspora. Apart from being an educational forum, the conference allows us to review issues of pan-Armenian relevance.”
A set of items were highlighted during the meeting: development of a curriculum for single-day schools, use of new teaching aids and electronic materials, holding of a pan-Armenian Olympiad on natural sciences, organization of teacher-training courses for those schools operational in foreign countries, exchange of know-how, as well as the possibility of raising teachers’ pensions.
Summing up the meeting, the Prime Minister underscored our teachers’ contribution to the cause of identity preservation and assured that our country will spare no means and efforts to that effect.
