Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan took part in Tumanyan-dedicated events
The RA Prime Minister traveled to Dsegh village, where “all-Armenian poet” Hovhannes Tumanyan was born. Tigran Sargsyan attended an international festival of puppet companies referred to as “Tumanyan fairy-tales day.”
Following the opening function, the head of government toured the village and visited the community school. Tigran Sargsyan held a short consultation with the teaching staff and the marz governor to discuss school building and road refurbishment-related issues. In conclusion, a book entitled “Dsegh” was presented to the Prime Minister by the teaching staff as symbolic gift. Before leaving the head of government toured the classrooms and the premises.
After paying a visit to Hovhannes Tumanyan’s home-museum, Tigran Sargsyan answered the journalists’ questions stating in part: “We want to raise public awareness of this cultural event. Indeed, we would like all parents to take part in this event which has an international status. The festival is an opportunity to introduce the great Armenian poet to the world.” The Prime Minister was accompanied by his spouse and children.
The international festival of puppet companies is held in Dsegh village on September 5-11.
