RA Prime Minister and newly appointed ambassador of Turkmenistan discuss possibilities for furthering bilateral cooperation
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Armenia Ata Serdarov.
Congratulating the Ambassador on appointment, Tigran Sargsyan expressed hope that during his tenure of office Ata Serdarov will promote the existing ties of efficacious interaction between the two countries.
The role of RA-Turkmenistan intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation was emphasized in the in the light of trade and economic cooperation. In this context, the head of government said to be pleased with outcome of the intergovernmental commission’s second sitting which was held in Yerevan April, 2010. Tigran Sargsyan welcomed the trade fair of Turkmen goods organized on the sidelines of the sitting and highlighted the commission’s decision to update the legal framework applicable between the two countries.
The interlocutors have stressed the need for joint efforts in the field of light industry, as a whole, and textile industry, in particular.
Concerning the need for building up and strengthening the cultural agenda, the Prime Minister made a point of holding Armenia’s and Turkmenistan’s culture days in both countries.
