Pilot project performance discussed
The outcome of a pilot project implemented in the healthcare sector was discussed at a prime minister-called consultative meeting which was attended by managers of medical institutions.
.
Chairman of RA National Assembly standing commission on healthcare, maternity and childhood, Director of “Arabkir” Infant and Child Care Institute Ara Babloyan reported progress as of July-August, 2010 in the implementation of a co-funded pilot project. The hearing was followed by an exchange of views on State order system reform, shade curbing and insurance system development.
Appreciating the outcome of the project as a whole, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan noticed that the exposure of financial flows will reduce the impact of “black” settlements to improve the moral status of medical institutions. He emphasized the importance of market-based pricing mechanisms to the healthcare system which can help minimize corruption risks and enhance the quality of medical services.
Summing up the discussion, the head of government directed Minister of Healthcare Harutyun Kushkyan to submit a schedule of follow-up action within a week’s time based on the proposals and recommendations voiced during the meeting.
