www.e-gov.am wins a best website award
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attended today the Information Freedom Center-hosted 8th annual Information Freedom Award which is held every September 28 – the International Information Freedom Day – following the passage of the RA law on freedom of information.
Focusing on the freedom of information, Tigran Sargsyan congratulated those in attendance and spoke about the challenges available in this sphere. “First of all, I appreciate public agencies’ adherence to openness and transparency. In this respect, serious efforts are being made to ensure that society may come aware of and have a say in decision-making processes.”
With reference to society-public sector interaction, the Prime Minister said the latter should be instrumental in fostering a dialog in the matters relating to the exchange of information. The head of government noticed that for the first time all government decisions are available online.
The Golden Key was awarded symbolizing good record of transparent activity. In turn, www.e-gov.am website won the nomination of best information service for 2010.
Thanking the jury on this occasion, Chief of Government Staff David Sargsyan said the task had been set by the Prime Minister. “The breakdown of SNCO funding from the treasury had been posted before www.e-gov.am was launched,” the Chief of Government Staff noticed.
