Serge Smessoff wrapping up his diplomatic mission in the Republic of Armenia
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received outgoing French ambassador to Armenia Serge Smessoff.
Thanking the Ambassador for valuable work done all over his term of office, the head of government emphasized Serge Smessoff’s personal contribution to the furtherance of the Armenian-French friendly relations which saw economic cooperation raised to the level of political and cultural exchanges.
Appreciating the Prime Minister’s kind remarks, the French diplomat said France is the second largest investor in Armenia after Russia which testifies to serious progress in trade turnover.
Welcoming the recent commitment of major France-based companies to the Armenian market, inclusive of France Telecom-Orange, the parties looked at ways of boosting economic exchanges between our two countries. In this context, postal services, insurance, power engineering, electronics, agriculture, viticulture, pharmaceutics and perfumery were citied as prospective areas of cooperation.
Ambassador Smessoff made a point of cooperation decentralization through direct ties established between individual towns and regions.
Wishing the Ambassador every success in his future activities, Tigran Sargsyan expressed hope that he will remain a good friend for Armenia and the Armenian people.
