Armenia-Iran economic cooperation potential to be tapped in full
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation led by IRI Trade, Industry and Mine Chamber President Mohammad Nahavandyani. The meeting was attended by Iranian ambassador to Armenia Seied Ali Saghaian and President of the Armenian Trade and Industry Chamber Martin Sargsyan.
Greeting the guests, the Prime Minister said to be pleased with the current level of friendly relationship between the two countries and emphasized the furtherance of economic ties.
The parties looked at possibilities for expanding economic cooperation and emphasized the need for making a better use of the existing cooperation potentialities. In particular, seconded by Tigran Sargsyan, Mohammad Nahavandyani prioritized the stepping up of trade turnover covering such key areas as industry, tourism and infrastructures. The strengthening of direct ties between the private sectors was stressed on either side. In this context, the establishment of joint ventures was discussed during the meeting.
The interlocutors also touched upon the planned high-level meetings. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia was said due to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran in late October, 2010, Mohammad Nahavandyani took the opportunity inviting Tigran Sargsyan to call at IRI Trade, Industry and Mine Chamber during his stay in his country.
