The Prime Minister congratulates teachers
On Teacher Day, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attended a gala event held at the Academic Opera and Ballet Theater after Al. Spendiaryan. Addressing the audience, the Prime Minister stated in part: “On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and myself, I extend heartfelt congratulations to all the teachers in attendance of this event. We have inherited a feeling of deep respect for the teacher’s work which should be handed down to the forthcoming generations since teaching is the most important profession.
As Winston Churchill has put it, “Any Prime Minister would have dreamt of having such an authority as teachers have.” And this is absolutely true as the future is in the hands of our teachers. We should eye our teachers, if we are to realize what Armenia will look like after a couple of decades. We should understand the system of values advocated by them and the way they bring up our children, including what kind of know-how, knowledge and analyzing skills are taught to the future citizens of our country. Now you can see that there is no greater authority than the one invested in our teachers.
Therefore, the teachers should be the center of our thoughts as national security and our future is at stake. I feel happy and proud having the opportunity to hail and felicitate our teachers on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
At the same time, I am highly honored to have the possibility of rewarding the best ones among them who were nominated by fellow professionals.
Once again, allow me to congratulate all the teachers on this nice holiday day.”
