Effective cooperation to be continued
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received Global Ecological Fund Executive Director Monique Barbout.
Greeting the guest, the Prime Minister said to be highly appreciative of existing ties of cooperation with the Global Ecological Fund. Stating his government’s environmental efforts, Tigran Sargsyan spoke about the effective civil society-public authorities environmental dialog.
The parties talked about the ongoing interaction and the programs to be implemented within the next three years. Concerning the protected areas, the possibility of addressing farmland degradation and Lake Sevan problems were discussed, in particular. Hazardous substance and waste product handling and biodiversity maintenance have been talked about during the meeting.
As to the prospective areas of cooperation, the interlocutors looked at the possibility of collaborating in the field of lighting system efficiency enhancement. In this context, Ms Barbout briefed the Prime Minister on advanced know-how available in different countries of the world.
