43 households Stepanavan may see the New Year in new apartments

43 earthquake-hit homeless families in Stepanavan were offered new apartment keys by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan during a function held later today at Stepanavan Municipality. They were granted two, three and four-room apartments in a new-built blocks of flats in the Left-Bank district of Stepanavan.

Tigran Sargsyan said the disaster zone-related items on the President’s electoral platform have been implemented with success:
“The President’s focus on providing new apartments to homeless people is taking effect. Notwithstanding the global crisis, we continued building housing and did our best to provide homes in a timely manner,” the Prime Minister stressed adding that the lists of beneficiaries are finalized so that the State can honor its commitments within the proposed time frames.

On housewarming, the Prime Minister donated two personal computes and two TV sets to 4 households.

Those residential buildings were left incomplete by Russian developers in the wake of the devastating earthquake of 1988. In November 2009, those community-owned unfinished buildings were handed over to the State which took up reinforcement and completion work.

Secondary school N6 after Vahan Tekeyan was the Prime Minister’s next port of call in Stepanavan. Lincy Foundation has undertaken to build a new block for the school featuring gym and conference halls. Tigran Sargsyan toured the site to get acquainted with the pace of construction work.
