FREDA Board of Trustees meets at Government
The Board of Trustees of the Fund for Rural Economic Development in Armenia (FREDA) met in the Office of Government, chaired by board chairman, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
To begin with, the Prime Minister congratulated those present on the New Year.ans stated as follws: “Whereas FREDA is a new entity, I wish you a breakthrough in 2011 enabling a sizeable volume of investments to our satisfaction. As a matter of fact, we are not short of financial resources and, therefore, success will come with efficient work.”
Under the first item of the agenda, FREDA director Tigran Khanikyan reported back the fund’s activities for the year 2010, its budget performance and those actions implemented under the annual action plan. In particular, he touched upon the completed and still incomplete projects, as well as on the ones to be implemented 2011. The report was debated on and approved by the members of the Board of Trustees.
The meeting discussed and approved FREDA’s 2011 draft consolidated budget, the estimate of maintenance costs, as well as the 2011 working plan.
The Board of Trustees next approved the audit report and the findings of the independent auditing organization which conducted the audit of FREDA’s financial-economic activity for 2009.
In accordance with another agenda item, the Board of Trustees decided to involve an alternative member in the Investment Commission and make corresponding changes to the commission by-laws. Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan told the members of the Board of Trustees to submit proposals regarding candidates at the next session.
