The Government of the Republic of Armenia

The jubilee commission on preparation of celebrations of the 15th anniversary of introduction of the system of local self government in Armenia held today its first ever sitting at the Office of Government, chaired by commission head, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.

Pointing out the importance of holding local self-government supportive actions in Armenia, the Prime Minister stressed that such actions might provide State-initiated incentives for domestic local self-government institutions.

After the meeting had discussed the draft schedule of anniversary-dedicated events, the meeting exchanged opinions during which commission members came up with proposals and recommendations.

Summing up the session, the head of government charged the commission task force to finalize the draft program of actions on the basis of the document at issue and account taken of all the proposals voiced at the meeting.
