The State keen on renewing national traditions
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attended today a ceremony of rewarding the winners of the exhibition - competitions organized in the Office of Primate of the Ararat patriarchal diocese on the occasion of the feast of Saint Sargis, chaired by Vicar of the Ararat patriarchal diocese, Archbishop Navasard Kchoyan. The event was also attended by members of the board of the World Union of Armenian Painters.
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan handed in certificates of honor and prizes to 12 young authors recognized as winners in the professional exhibition – competition. Certificates of honor were presented to the best 16 authors who has excelled in the nonprofessional competition for works submitted in the painting, sculpture and applied arts nominations.
Highly appreciative of the renewed tradition of the feast of Saint Sargis, the head of government stated in part: “It should be emphasized that due to consecutive cooperation of the State and the Church, the feast of Saint Sargis has become a an integral part of our life because our people gets ready for this holiday, celebrates it wholeheartedly as though this nice tradition always used to be with us. You may agree that an essential role was played by the fact that the celebrations are held under the high patronage of President Serzh Sargsyan in an effort to highlight the State’s commitment to the restoration of our national traditions which is the case with feast of Saint Sargis.”
Thanking all those art workers having participated in the exhibition – competitions, Tigran Sargsyan congratulated them and wished every success in the fields of their choice.
The exhibition - competitions were organized by the World Union of Armenian Painters in cooperation with the Ararat patriarchal diocese.
The works of young artists have been published in an annual colorful album with sponsorship of Armentel-Beeline.
