The Vice President of Asian Development Bank at RA Government
Today Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received the delegation of the Asian Development Bank led by the Vice President for Private Sector of the bank Lakshmi Venkatachalam.
Welcoming the guests, the head of the government stressed out that the relations between RA and ADB entered a new phase, which is characterized by new projects and volume growth.
The interlocutors emphasized the importance of the diversification of RA economy and the efforts to promoe the development of small and medium businesses. They also talked about the development issues of Zvartnots international airport, as well as ADB’s Trade Finance Program implemented in cooperation with a number of Armenian banks.
Lakshmi Venkatachalam presented the ADB’s cooperation strategy with the private sector, which attaches the importance to the development of infrastructures and the financial sector, environmental protection, territorial development and educational issues.
In this context, reference was made to the opportunities of cooperation in the spheres of energy and agriculture.
